OEM carbon questionnaire responses for Ontario suppliers —
per-part footprints from real production data.
GM, Ford, and Stellantis want per-part carbon footprints with primary data. VantageHSG automates OEM carbon questionnaire responses for Ontario Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers using actual MTCs, production routing, and steel/aluminum purchase records.
The questionnaire that landed in your inbox isn't going away
GM's Supplier Carbon Neutral Program, Ford's carbon disclosure requirements, and Stellantis Scope 3 surveys all ask the same underlying question: what is the embedded carbon in the specific part you ship, calculated with primary data and a disclosed methodology? For Ontario Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers in Windsor, Oshawa, and the GTA, the traditional response — applying an industry-average kg CO₂e per kg steel — is no longer acceptable. OEMs want to know your electricity source, your scrap ratio, your coating chemistry, and your supplier's emission factor for the billet that became your stamping.
Why per-part footprints require production routing, not facility averages
A facility-level annual total divided by parts produced gives you an average — but not the number the OEM asked for. A brake bracket routed through stamping, welding, e-coat, and powder coat has a different footprint than a suspension arm that skips coating. VantageHSG breaks facility totals down to the product level using your actual production routing, machine-hour electricity allocation, and material inputs per BOM line. Steel and aluminum purchased goods pull from MTC carbon content or supplier EPDs. The output is a per-part kg CO₂e with full lineage — ready to paste into the OEM portal or attach as a methodology appendix.
Bill C-59 makes OEM responses a legal document
When you submit a carbon number to an OEM, you're making an environmental representation in a commercial context. Under Bill C-59's private right of action, a competitor or NGO can challenge that number if the methodology isn't verifiable. The OEM may also forward your data to their own sustainability report — amplifying any error. VantageHSG ensures every per-part footprint includes source lineage, factor version, and assumption disclosure so your questionnaire response meets the same verified methodology standard as your public sustainability claims.
Start with one part, not the whole BOM
Send one MTC for the steel coil behind your highest-volume part, plus the production routing for that part number. We'll return a sample per-part footprint with lineage in 14 days. If the methodology holds up to your OEM's follow-up questions, expand to a 90-day pilot covering your top 3–5 part numbers. Growth plans at $599/month include unlimited documents and Bill C-59 compliance statements on every output.

Common questions
Can you integrate with our OEM supplier portals directly?
We produce the data and methodology appendix in formats compatible with major OEM portals. Direct API integration is on the Enterprise roadmap; pilots start with export files you upload.
What if our steel supplier won't provide an EPD?
We use the MTC's certified chemical composition to calculate carbon content, falling back to ECCC or EEIO factors with full disclosure when primary data isn't available.
Do you handle Scope 3 Category 4 (transportation) too?
Yes. Where you provide freight records or standard lane distances, we calculate transportation emissions per part. Category 4 is included in full Scope 3 deployments.
